Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran (born March 10, 1949) is an American businesswoman, investor and speaker. She is also a consultant, speaker, syndicated columnist, author, and television personality. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage that she founded. NRT purchased it for $66million in 2001. Corcoran later left the company. Corcoran has been a part of 12 of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. In February of 2020 Corcoran was involved in 53 deals, with the biggest being a $350,000 investment which was able to cover 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran, who was the second of 10 children from a working-class Irish-Catholic family, was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. Florence was her mother, who was an errand-taker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. her father, was a multi-talented employee throughout Corcoran's childhood. At times, her family relied on the delivery of food that was free from a friendly local grocer. Corcoran is still able to remember her father as someone who would drink occasionally and treated her mother with disrespect. Corcoran was a struggling student in school. Corcoran later found out that she had dyslexia. Corcoran attended an Catholic elementary school in her area and started the high school year in St. Cecilia High School, Englewood. Corcoran was proficient in a variety of courses her freshman year. She was transferred to Leonia High School and graduated with a grade of D.
